Job Description - General Utility-Fork A 1st Shift

Position Summary


Move materials throughout all areas of warehouse, this includes the Freezer. Safely Operate a PIVs (powered industrial vehicles). Use various tools and necessary forms to document material movements, inspections and inventory. Maintain cleanliness of equipment and areas of responsibility and report any safety, equipment or material related issues needing attention to the superior.


 


Job Responsibilities

                    Operate handheld RF scanners to track inventory and materials


                    Load and unload trucks, trailers, and freezer racks efficiently


                    Receive, inspect, and verify accuracy of incoming shipments


                    Stock materials in designated warehouse or freezer locations


                    Pull and stage raw materials and packaging supplies for production use


                    Ensure timely and accurate material deliveries to production areas


                    Prepare, stage, and document outgoing shipments


                    Maintain accurate inventory records and complete all required documentation


                    Conduct routine cycle counts and assist with inventory audits


                    Adhere to all warehouse safety and sanitation policies


                    Comply with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and food safety standards


                    Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of hazards


                    Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, or other warehouse equipment as needed


                    Communicate effectively with production, logistics, and warehouse teams


                    Report any damaged goods, equipment malfunctions, or safety concerns immediately


                    This role has the responsibility to understand and places in practice appropriate safety procedures.  This responsibility is achieved through education, training, use of protective equipment (as applicable) and by following safety policies, regulations, standards, and laws.


                    Perform other duties as assigned.


 


Experience & Skills


                    0-1 years of experience in related field is preferred.


 


Preferred Education


                    High School Diploma and/or equivalent work experience is required.


                    Be able to complete necessary documentation in English


 


Work Environment


                    Work can be performed within a manufacturing plant environment with noise, extreme temperatures, and significant movement of powered equipment, people and conveyor (may depend on the role).


                    Work conditions are typical of a food manufacturing facility.


                    This role does not require any domestic travel


                    Position may require the physical agility of lifting up to 50 pounds


                    Position may require frequent and/or infrequent of bending, squatting, pushing, pulling, stretching/reaching, use hands or fingers, talk, hear, feel objects, tools, controls and standing/walking on concrete flooring.


                    Position may require the physical ability to stand/walk for Greater than 4 hours.


 


 


Compensation/Benefits


 


The starting hourly rate for this position is $23.00. This role is a union role and is eligible for overtime pay for hours worked beyond 40 hours in a week and may also be eligible for additional hourly premiums for perfect attendance and/or working evening or night shifts.
