What you do daily:
• Testing & Monitoring: Conduct monthly test runs, perform daily monitoring of EPMS, fuel/oil system, batteries, and battery charging system. Supervise annual load banking performed by the service provider.
• System Integration: Assist with the physical integration, configuration, and testing of backup generators alongside Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS) and Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS) as needed.
• Troubleshooting & Repair: Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults on-site, coordinate prompt emergency repairs during power outages or component failures to ensure smooth transitions to backup power.
• Data Log & Reporting: Maintain highly accurate service records, log entries for all completed repairs, track runtime hours, and document inspection results. This includes yearly reporting to the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ).
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with the operations and facilities maintenance teams during integrated system tests, upgrades, and emergency response drills.
• Safety & Compliance: Execute all maintenance work in strict compliance with local regulations, industry standards, and internal data center safety policies. Adhere to all process requirements, operating/emission limitations, notifications, and reporting required by the DEQ.
• Operational Agility: Partner with cross-functional infrastructure teams and execute additional mechanical, electrical, or facilities tasks assigned to support overall uptime and changing site priorities.
