Job Description - Genitourinary Medical Oncologist - Baptist MD Anderson Cancer Center

About Baptist MD Anderson Cancer Center
Baptist MD Anderson Cancer Center is a destination for highly coordinated cancer care, from screening to diagnosis to treatment to survivorship. Recognized as a top place to work in health care, Baptist Health cares for more patients in Northeast Florida than any other provider, ranking as “most preferred” for more than 30 years. We’re Jacksonville's only locally governed, faith-based, not-for-profit health system and provide a full spectrum of preventive and specialty care through 200+ locations and six hospitals. Our centers of excellence include Baptist MD Anderson Cancer Center, Baptist Heart Hospital, Baptist Neurological Institute and Wolfson Children's Hospital.

Baptist MD Anderson Cancer Center (BMDACC) of Jacksonville, Florida, is actively seeking a full-time Medical Oncologist to join our distinguished Cancer Medicine faculty. This position will support the growth of our multidisciplinary Genitourinary Oncology Program.

A strong track record in genitourinary oncology is preferred, and graduating fellows with a demonstrated commitment and solid scholarly record will also be considered. Professional growth opportunities and leadership positions within the Division of Cancer Medicine, including our quality or clinical research programs, may be available.

BMDACC brings an unprecedented level of integrated multidisciplinary oncology care to Northeast Florida and beyond and provides an appealing blend of community-based patient centered care with added benefit of an academic-oriented model. Baptist Health is proud to be the region's most preferred healthcare provider, and one of only seven unique health systems in the United States chosen to replicate the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center's (UTMDACC) multidisciplinary and proven model of care.

BMDACC is the Southeast patient care hub for the MD Anderson Cancer Network®, a program of MD Anderson.

The successful candidate will:

  • Will be our GU lead and will partner with our 4 urologists to grow the multidisciplinary program.

  • Demonstrate a commitment to our patient-centered multidisciplinary integrated model of cancer care including participation in quality improvement and research programs.

  • Fully support the clinical, scholarly, and research missions of our program including developing standard protocols for patient care, improving quality metrics and scholarly/research activities.

  • Display the passion, communication, interpersonal skills and collaboration required to build an active clinical practice and develop areas of productive scholarship.

  • Be recommended for an adjunct academic appointment at UTMDACC, commensurate with clinical and scholarly achievements.

  • Have, or be eligible for, certification in Medical Oncology by the American Board of Internal Medicine.

  • Have or be eligible for an unrestricted Florida Medical License & DEA license

  • Join a team of 20 medical oncologists and 4 Urologists.

Required Qualifications:
