Who are we looking for?
GHD has an opportunity for a mid-level Environmental Engineer/Geologist/Hydrogeologist to work with our Contaminated Assessment and Remediation (CAR) group as a CAR professional based in our Des Moines, Iowa office. If you are a self-motivated professional with excellent communication and technical skills, federal/state/local environmental regulatory knowledge, and seeking a growth-oriented role, this opportunity may be for you! The role includes a mix of field, office, and project management responsibilities.
Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:
Using knowledge of various engineering and scientific disciplines, may collect, synthesize, study, report, and recommend action based on data derived from measurements or observations of soil, water, and other sources. Work may include groundwater investigations, regulatory reporting, client interfacing, and project management. .
This role is expected to have approximately 25% travel and field work including groundwater sampling and subcontractor oversight. Field work may require lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds. Most travel is within Iowa and Nebraska. Most projects you will be working on center on groundwater characterization and reporting. Across our office we work on many other projects including waste management, environmental compliance, and remediation.
