Earth Systems is currently seeking a Geotechnical Field / Lab ­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­Technician at our Pasadena, CA office.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform routine and advanced field tests related to soils engineering and construction
• Perform both routine and advanced lab tests related to field and soils, and construction materials.
• Assists in technical computations and analyses
• Perform complex tests under close supervision
• Assists in the coordination of field and laboratory work
• Operate and maintain field testing equipment, perform troubleshooting, and maintain calibration of equipment
• Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

• Prior experience working in a geotechnical environment preferred.
• Must be familiar with Microsoft programs.
• Math, analytical, and writing skills are required and must be willing to “learn by doing.”
• Must have reliable transportation and a clean driving record.

Education and Licensure:

• High school or equivalent required
• An associate degree in geoscience or engineering preferred
• Nuclear testing gauge, ACI, ICC, DSA, and AWS certifications preferred.

The expected pay range for this position is $20-35 per hour. Exact rate is dependent on several factors such as experience, skills, education/certifications, and geographic location.

Employment conditioned upon completing a post-offer background check, review of motor vehicle records, drug screening and medical evaluation appropriate to the position.
