Position Overview

As Laboratory Technical Director, you'll oversee all technical operations in a 100% laboratory-based role, leading a skilled team while ensuring the highest standards of quality and precision in geotechnical testing services.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct all laboratory operations, including staff management, scheduling, and resource allocation
• Supervise complex geotechnical testing procedures including soil mechanics, materials testing, and specialized analyses
• Maintain AASHTO, USACE, and GA DOT accreditations and certifications
• Ensure compliance with ASTM standards and quality management protocols
• Lead technical audits and maintain the lab's exceptional quality record
• Provide expert consultation to clients and project teams
• Mentor and develop technical staff members
• Oversee laboratory equipment calibration and maintenance programs

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or related field (Master's preferred)
• 8+ years of geotechnical laboratory experience with demonstrated leadership
• Comprehensive knowledge of ASTM, AASHTO, and DOT testing standards
• Proven track record in laboratory quality management
• Excellence in team leadership and technical mentoring
• Strong project management and client communication skills
• PE license preferred
