Gift Shop Attendant

JOB SUMMARY: Provide friendly, efficient service to guests, maintain cleanliness of gift shop, restock or store items as necessary. Complete all necessary paperwork, account for money, and sales during shift.

REPORTS TO: Gift Shop Manager

PRIMARY DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS:

1. Greet the guest.
2. Assist guest with purchases of merchandise.
3. Keep gift shop clean, neat and straight.
4. Straighten merchandise, displays and dust shelves daily, moving merchandise, when necessary, wash glass shelves, windows and counter tops as needed, vacuum as needed. 
5. Check in merchandise and put away whenever required.  Restock merchandise as needed.

PRIOR EXPERIENCE: None required.

RESPONSIBLE FOR: Keys, cash, charges on shift. 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: During busy times, must be able to stand during entire shift. 

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:  Work takes place in the gift shop and inventory storage areas.  There is only one employee working during a shift. Schedule includes weekends, holidays day and night shifts. Shifts vary, looking for open availability. 

HAZARDS ENCOUNTERED:  Typical hazards associated with work of this type. Standing, some reaching and bending.

SKILLS REQUIRED:  Basic arithmetic skills, ability to make change accurately, and ability to speak and write English.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:  Ability to read, write, keep basic records, do simple arithmetic.

PERSONALITY REQUIREMENTS:  Must be neat, clean, friendly and dependable.  Must like dealing with the public and enjoy giving good service.  Must be able to work alone, without supervision.
