Job Description - Gift Shop/Retail Associate -Seasonal- $14.00 per Hour - Hocking Hills Lodge & Conference Center



Hocking Hills Lodge and Conference Center located inside Hocking Hills State Park is seeking reliable & friendly candidates for Gift Shop Attendant positions. 


Hocking Hills Lodge and Conference Center is a brand new 81-room lodge with 40 cabins, a full-service restaurant/lounge, and banquet facilities to accommodate up to 200 guests. More property information is available at www.GreatOhioLodges.com.


Hocking Hills State Park is one of the most visited State Parks in the country requiring a level of attention to detail and service to meet the guest's expectations and experience.

JOB SUMMARY:


 



  • Greet and talk to guest as they enter the store.

  • Assist guests when necessary.

  • Handle sales transactions according to established guidelines.

  • Demonstrate new or unusual items to guests.

  • Up-sell and suggestion sell on every purchase.

  • Promote multiple sales such as gift baskets and prepackaged gifts.

  • Open and/or close store according to established procedures.

  • Answer phone in a professional manner.

  • Restock merchandise as necessary.

  • Build displays according to pre-established guidelines.

  •  Keep the gift shop clean: dust shelves and displays, clean windows, sweep floors, etc.

  • Communicate daily events to supervisor and other retail staff.


 


Note:  Most job titles have a number associated with the name. This number refers to skill and knowledge level associated with the responsibilities of that position.  Most positions have from one to five levels, with level 1 as the entry level.  Additional competencies are required to progress to the next level.


 


PRE-REQUISITES:



  • Previous retail experience preferred.

  • Previous cash handling experience preferred.

  • Previous guest service strongly preferred.


 


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES:


Through the training process and your current experience, the following skills and abilities are required to successfully perform this job.


 


Equipment used and experience required.  30 days experience on each point preferred.

  • Computer

  • Adding Machine


Other requirements



  • Must be able to repeatedly lift and carry 50 lbs.

  • Must have full range of motion.

  • Must be able to climb a stepladder.

  • Must be able to stand for long periods.

  • Must have outstanding communication skills.

  • Must be friendly, helpful, and outgoing.
