Giftshop Sales Associate (Swing)

JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for providing guest service that results in sales of gift shop merchandise and promotions. Will cashier, replenish stock, arrange displays, and provide information on Wildhorse Resort & Casino events.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Provide the highest level of customer service by using gift shop guest services standards which include greeting and acknowledging guests in a friendly manner and using the customer’s name whenever possible.


2. Promote customer satisfaction by coming out from behind the counter and engaging in conversation with customers.


3. Assist guests by providing product knowledge on all merchandise sold in the Gift Shop.


4. Operate cash register and process transactions within department guidelines for all approved payment methods.


5. Responsible for maintaining an imprest bank including signing out and returning at the beginning and end of shift, including all accounting paperwork such as reconciling and monitoring daily sales.


6. Will assist with checking in merchandise which includes pricing new merchandise and putting freight away in an organized manner.


7. Maintains tidiness and organization of the Gift Shop by regularly cleaning and restocking merchandise as needed.


8. Lift and maneuver heavy, bulky items onto shelving, including overhead when changing displays or replenishing products.


9. Promotes a clean, safe, healthy work environment by using all equipment, tools, and materials safely.


10. Knowledgeable of current marketing promotions and events to give accurate information to guests, including selling tickets to upcoming events.


11. Promote internal guest service standards through courteous and respectful behavior toward co-workers and supervisors.


12. Handle guest inquiries and or concerns efficiently and cordially, referring difficult situations to the supervisor.


13. Comply with regulatory laws, employee handbook, department policy and procedures, safety codes, etc.


14. Responsible for Gift Shop daily duties as assigned on daily duty task sheets.


15. Promote teamwork through punctual, responsible attendance which includes promptness regarding breaks, meal periods, and reporting to the workstation.


16. Promptly report all concerns to the supervisor.


17. Will assist with inventory control, following established procedures, and assisting with quarterly inventory as assigned.


18. Other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Six (6) months of cash handling and six (6) months of customer service experience.


2. Need to stand for long periods: handle and maneuver bulky 50 lb. boxes; work in a noisy, environment and perform repetitive motions with wrists, hands, and fingers.


3. High School Diploma or GED or 10 years’ experience.


4. Effective communication skills – verbally provide instruction, respond to questions, and have exceptional interpersonal skills and abilities.


5. Exhibits a professional demeanor through appearance and by maintaining a positive attitude toward all employees and guests.


6. Requires a criminal history clearance check.


7. Must be at least 18 years of age.
