Girls Discipleship Coordinator

POSITION PURPOSE: The Discipleship Coordinator assists the Director of Youth Ministry in leading the Youth Ministry of Christ Presbyterian Church. This candidate will minister to all middle and high school students, but with a distinct focus on female students,  through relational ministry, program planning and implementation, large group teaching, small group facilitation and one on one meetings. Additionally, this position works to develop the volunteer ministry team and partners with families in the student discipleship process. 

DIRECT REPORT: Director of Youth Ministry

POSITION OUTCOMES/EXPECTATIONS:
 

Leadership

• Partner with the Director of Youth Ministry and other Student Ministry staff to implement the Youth Ministry mission, vision, and core values of CPC Youth Ministry
• Work with the Director of Youth Ministry and other Youth Ministry staff to provide care and leadership for students.
• Partner with Youth Ministry staff to create a ministry environment that is welcoming and inclusive for all students, understanding the specific needs and nuances of the student culture both inside and outside of Christ Presbyterian Church.
• Partner with Youth Ministry staff and volunteers in the ongoing development and execution of a process of discipleship for students that engages, equips, and sends them out to share their faith with others.

Programming

• Partner with Youth Ministry staff to plan and execute all Student Ministry major events, ensuring excellence in promotion, production, execution, and attendance.
• Partner with Youth Ministry staff to plan and execute all Student Ministry small and large group regular programming, ensuring it is excellent in promotion, production, execution, and attendance.
• Plan, prepare, and teach lessons, Bible studies, devotionals, etc. periodically and with language consistent with principles from the public speaking document of Christ Presbyterian Church 
• Serve and support overall church programming including Sunday Morning worship and other church events as needed.

Relationships

• Build consistent relationships with the staff, students, parents, fellows, and adult volunteers associated with Youth Ministry
• Have a consistent presence in student environments (school, home, work, etc.) with a passion for meeting students where they are.
• Responsible to actively recruit, equip, encourage, and lead a team of adult volunteers who serve in the Student Ministry.
• Communicate clearly, winsomely, and in a timely fashion with students, parents, fellows, and adult volunteers.
• Participate in the ongoing development and implementation of a strategy to equip and empower parents to be effective in the role of primary spiritual nurturers to their children.

Operations

• Partner with the Director of Youth to request, structure, and manage the spending of annual program budget

Personal Development

• Pursue an intimate relationship with the Lord including daily times of fellowship, prayer, study and other areas of Christian maturity.
• Pursue ongoing learning and development in specific ministry focus areas to include but not limited to: youth ministry, volunteer leadership, theological study, missions and service, and worship. 
• Pursue emotional and spiritual health through regular rhythms of work and rest, including a weekly sabbath day and additional weekly times of personal rest and relaxation. 

Education 

• A bachelor’s degree is required.

Experience and Skills

• 2-4 years of experience in full time ministry preferred or other relevant full-time work with significant volunteer ministry experience.
• Preferred ministry experience includes: paid or volunteer student ministry roles within the church, RUF, Young Life, other campus ministries, camp staff 
• Game development, preparation and facilitation for both small and large group settings.
• Strong relational skills 
• Self-motivator with the ability to work effectively on a team
• Desire to work with middle and high school students
• Ability to effectively manage multiple projects, daily tasks and an irregular dynamic schedule.
• Experience leading worship is preferred.

Requirements

• Enthusiastic alignment with the Theology and Philosophy of Ministry as communicated in Westminster Confession of Faith and Christ Presbyterian Youth Philosophy of Ministry
• All employees must commit to performing their duties in accordance with the stated mission and purpose of the church, CPC 101, CPC Policies and Procedures Manual, and the Westminster Confession of Faith; all employees must be evangelical Christians and active members of an evangelical Christian church.
• Commitment to join CPC as a member within first six months of employment.
