GIS Solutions Architect-Developer

Overview
We are looking for candidate(s) for GIS Architect/Developer position(s). The ideal candidate will have experience in the Esri GIS technology stack. We have a specific opening for a resource working with the Illinois Department of Transportation to help manage the GIS infrastructure, data workflows, and GIS strategic planning.

Work Environment:

Location: NV5 Geospatial Regional Office in Springfield, IL & Work From Fome (WFH) considered

Schedule:  Hydrid (Onsite & WFH)

Potential travel up 15-20% of the time

Responsibilities
Desired Job Requirements:

Knowledge of geospatial concepts and conducting geospatial analyses

Understanding of the Esri software stack in the context for Information Technology including hardware, storage, security, networking, web services, virtualization, and cloud computing (Microsoft Azure or AWS)

Experience with geodatabases and underlying DBMS technology

Professional working knowledge of the Esri platform, tools, APIs, interfaces

Experience developing with Python in the Esri environment

Experience working with ArcGIS Enterprise

Experience working with ArcGIS Online

Development experience with ArcGIS mobile tools, ArcGIS Dashboards, Survey 123, Workforce for ArcGIS or ArcGIS Insights recommended

Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

Ability to communicate technical information in non-technical settings

Good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment

Self-starter strong ability to work ability to work cooperatively with supervisors and colleagues in a team environment (both on-site and remote)

Qualifications
Desired Experience/Skills:

3+ years of experience with Esri technology

Experience in technical consulting and conceptual solution design

Programming and scripting experience with languages such as Python, SQL, and JavaScript

The ability to interact with clients to gather requirements, identify solutions and implement those solutions

Bachelor’s or master’s in geography, computer science, or a related field, or equivalent work experience

Job Responsibilities:

Ability to perform a variety of professional work in the analysis, design, implementation, and maintenance of an enterprise and/or web (i.e. AGOL) GIS

Provide development and analysis to the needs and requirements of the client

Identify problems, objectives, and goals; examine alternatives and develop conclusions and recommendations
