Job Purpose


Develop and communicate maintenance plans, including routine and preventive maintenance, related schedules; as well as resources, skills, and materials needed to maintain installations and equipment to minimize disruptions.


 


Compensation: $35 - $40 hourly wage.


 


Main Responsibilities


Identify equipment and plan for adequate resources, skills, and materials for the maintenance department.


Review plans with Maintenance Managers to validate accuracy, feasibility, and consolidate these into a master plan.


Monitor inventory of materials and equipment necessary for planned maintenance activities.


Calculate overall maintenance costs, including labor, material and service provider costs.


Collect, organize, and update all information required for the maintenance team, e.g. technical drawings, vendor manuals, instruction materials, standard and special procedures, etc.


Identify deviations, document, and communicate them in compliance with Standard Operating Procedures.


Classify, sort, prioritize, and distribute work requests as necessary depending on class, such as emergency, safety, GMP, shutdown required, reliability, and engineering.


Monitor and report maintenance activities and their cost against budget.


Keep accurate metrics on the progress of maintenance plans and provide timely reports to the Maintenance Manager.


Maintain and update the status of work control and backlog for work request submissions.


Maintain and provide all necessary documents for department related audits.


Support the resolution of key facility problems.


Participate in lean activities.


Participate in rotational department on-call responsibilities.


Work in accordance with all relevant requirements including, but not limited to ATEX, GMP, AIB, OSHA, HACCP, FDA, USDA, and other internal safety and regulatory guidelines.


May perform other tasks as assigned.


 


Academic Background


Vocational diploma or certifications in maintenance, technical engineering, or related discipline (pre-university level) preferred.


Experience required in forklift operation and tasks related to Facility maintenance such as pipefitting, welding, electrical and controls, and general equipment repair.


 


Professional experience


Overall work experience of 5+ years with mechanical/electrical background in food or chemical related manufacturing environment.


Preventive maintenance scheduling experience preferred.


Good computer literacy and knowledge of work order system (SAP highly preferred).


 


Technical Skills


Good knowledge of craft and skills to accurately estimate labor hours, materials, and skills needed to complete a job.


Good knowledge of maintenance planning and scheduling, including storeroom processes.


Good mathematical skills.


Demonstrated project planning and project management skills.


Demonstrated ability to read standard machine and process drawings.


Write and provide accurate instructions.
