Reports to Academic Coordinator – Global Campus

Department Global Campus - Academics

FLSA Status Hourly, Non-Exempt

JOB PURPOSE

The Global Campus Representative (GC Rep) will serve the Global Campus students by engaging the Global Campus community and connecting them to institutional resources.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Help students navigate online courses by monitoring engagement, contacting those needing assistance, providing basic tutoring, and connecting them to any relevant institutional resources or personnel.

  • Encourage and inform current and prospective students, instructors, and mentors via phone, video call, email, or chat 
  • Assist the GC team with administrative tasks, such as research, data entry, and reporting, and logistics for gatherings, resources, and coaching
  • Perform other tasks assigned in support of the academic, extracurricular, and administrative projects of the Global Campus
  • Seek to improve his or her own vocational excellence, the efficiency of Global Campus processes, and the culture of the Global Campus Team

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS

Including, however not limited to:

  • Christian with high integrity, actively pursuing a relationship with God
  • Pursuing or possessing a Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred)
  • Familiarity with online education (preferred)
  • Experience using a learning management system (e.g., Canvas) (preferred)
  • Working knowledge of digital communication tools (e.g., Microsoft Outlook and Teams) and Microsoft Office (particularly Word and Excel)
  • Familiarity with the Southern Baptist Convention, its Cooperative Program, and theological higher education (preferred)
  • Active membership in an evangelical church that is likeminded with MBTS
  • Professional appearance, demeanor, hygiene, and conversational skills
  • Able to multi-task, analyze workload, and prioritize as necessary for the benefit of the department
  • Able to take the initiative to complete the duties of the position without the need of direct supervision.
  • Able to learn and utilize new skills and information to improve job performance and efficiency. 
  • Must be able to work independently, as well as a part of a team
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Must possess a positive attitude
  • Able to show a desire and willingness to learn
  • Must be able to pass background screening, including driving record
  • Eligible to work in the United States

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • 10–15 hours per week, during daytime hours, Monday through Friday (recurring schedule to be determined by employee and supervisor before the position begins)
  • Shared office environment

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Frequently required to sit or stand for periods of time at a desk or computer station
  • Occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.
  • Able lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
