The GPS Engineer II \u2013 Sculpta provides technical product support for etch\u2011based semiconductor systems, with emphasis on vacuum and plasma chamber technologies. The role supports Field Service Engineers and customers by executing structured troubleshooting, participating in root cause analysis (RCA) activities, supporting defined system escalations, assisting with installs and upgrades, and contributing to technical documentation.\n\nAt the E2 level, the engineer operates as an independent executor within a defined problem scope, applying established methods and procedures, escalating complex or ambiguous issues appropriately, and working under guidance of senior GPS engineers and engineering teams\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nProduct \u0026 System Support\n\n * Provide technical support for Sculpta etch systems to Field Service Engineers via phone, electronic media, and on\u2011site support.\n\n * Execute troubleshooting of vacuum and plasma chamber issues, including hardware, consumables, RF components, and performance\u2011related problems.\n\n * Support system operation, calibration, maintenance, and recovery activities at customer sites following established procedures.\n\n * Assist with beta tool support, new hardware introductions, and early customer deployments under defined scope.\n\n\n\n\nEscalations \u0026 Root Cause Analysis\n\n * Support L3L4 system escalations under the direction of other GPS/TPS engineers or engineering teams.\n\n * Apply established RCA methodologies (e.g., 5\u2011Why, fault tree analysis, data correlation) to assigned problems.\n\n * Collect and analyze data from logs, alarms, system sensors, process trends, and field observations.\n\n * Identify and document contributing factors across hardware, vacuum, plasma, configuration, and operational domains.\n\n * Document RCA findings, corrective actions, and validation results for review.\n\n * Support implementation and verification of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) as directed.\n\n\n\n\nVacuum \u0026 Plasma Systems Focus\n\n * Support troubleshooting of:\n\n * Vacuum systems (roughing and turbo pumps, valves, seals, pressure control, leak detection)\n\n * Plasma chambers and associated process hardware\n\n * RF power delivery components and matching networks\n\n * Assist in diagnosing plasma instability, arcing, particle generation, and chamber performance degradation.\n\n * Support chamber health monitoring, contamination control, and preventive maintenance effectiveness.\n\n\n\n\nCIP, Installs \u0026 Retrofits\n\n * Assist with CIP upgrades, hardware retrofits, and system modifications following released documentation.\n\n * Support on\u2011site installs and upgrades, including post\u2011install verification and issue resolution.\n\n * Provide structured field feedback to engineering and manufacturing teams through established channels.\n\n\n\n\nDocumentation \u0026 Knowledge Capture\n\n * Contribute to GPS documentation, including CENs, ISBs, BKMs, and troubleshooting procedures.\n\n * Document RCA results, workarounds, and lessons learned from assigned field issues and escalations.\n\n * Follow established documentation authoring, review, and release processes.\n\n\n\n\nCustomer \u0026 Team Interaction\n\n * Participate in customer calls, escalation reviews, and on\u2011site technical discussions as required.\n\n * Collaborate with Field Service, Engineering, Manufacturing, and senior GPS engineers.\n\n * Communicate technical findings clearly and professionally to internal stakeholders and customers.\n\n\n\n\nTravel \u0026 Work Requirements\n\n * Willingness to travel 25\u201330%, including short\u2011notice travel for escalations.\n\n * Ability to support off\u2011shift or weekend work during critical customer events, installs, or recovery efforts.\n\n * May require extended on\u2011site support during escalations or ramp activities.\n\n\n\n\nEducation\n\n * Bachelor\u2019s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Systems Engineering, or related discipline \nor equivalent combination of education and relevant industry experience.\n\n\n\n\nQualifications\n\n * 2 - 4 years of experience supporting etch\u2011based semiconductor systems in a fab, Lab, field service, or product support role.\n\n * Hands\u2011on experience with vacuum and plasma\u2011based chambers.\n\n * Demonstrated participation in structured root cause analysis of system\u2011level issues.\n\n * Exposure to customer escalations and cross\u2011functional technical problem solving.\n\n\n\n\nTechnical Skills\n\n * Working knowledge of:\n\n * Etch process fundamentals and plasma behavior\n\n * Vacuum system operation and chamber hardware\n\n * RF power delivery concepts (preferable)\n\n * Ability to perform data\u2011driven troubleshooting and RCA within defined scope.\n\n * Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, vacuum schematics, and electrical diagrams.\n\n * Familiarity with semiconductor tool documentation and change control processes.\n\n\n\n\nBehavioral Competencies\n\n * Analytical and methodical problem\u2011solving approach.\n\n * Clear written and verbal technical communication.\n\n * Ability to follow established RCA processes and escalation paths.\n\n * Willingness to learn, take ownership of assigned tasks, and operate effectively in high\u2011pressure fab environments.\n\n\n\n\n## Qualifications\n\n### Education:\n\nBachelor\u0027s Degree (Required)\n\n### Skills\n\n### Certifications:\n\n### Languages:\n\n### Years of Experience:\n\n2 - $119,000.00\n\nThe salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members.
