Global Supply Chain Specialist

Global Supply Chain Specialist will manage MRP review and supply planning. Source materials for assigned commodities, manage the supply base, and develop all contractual terms on selected materials to optimize quality, reliability, price, delivery, and availability. Lead supply chain improvement initiatives like inventory reduction and management, and vendor managed inventory programs. Identify any cost or lead time reduction opportunities to improve supply chain performance.

• Work within the MRP and Advanced Supply Chain Planning system to identify requirements and priorities.
• Perform day to day purchasing functions as needed - Prepare Requests for Quote (RFQ’s), issue purchase orders and confirm orders.
• Identify and select primary and secondary suppliers.  Work to add new suppliers to the Approved Supplier List (ASL) as needed.
• Actively pursue cost reduction programs with suppliers to lower cost and improve service or material availability. Ensure all price variances are justified.
• Work with cross functional teams to target inventory reduction and maintenance plans.
• Work with Quality Control on any discrepancies and to approve Quality documents before shipping. Process any NCR’s
• Maintain metrics, monitor improvements, and document processes as required.
• Evaluate and monitor vendor performance using vendor performance matrix based on knowledge of prices, delivery, and quality.
• Manage all logistics - obtain sea/air freight quotes with freight forwarder and get freight approvals.
• Confirm all shipping instruction, provide shipping documents to receiver for review.
• Work with global finance teams to resolve any discrepant vendor invoices.
• Will notify Operations / Production Planning of any delays that will impact the customer’s delivery.
• Source Inventory internally before placing any PO’s. Work with manufacturing, repair centers, and engineering on overstock, surplus, and excess (OES) inventory.

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Some college preferred.
• Purchasing experience and MRP experience preferred
