Role Summary\n\nThe Risk and Compliance Leader will lead the global Third-Party Risk Management (TPRM) program and will be responsible for defining, governing, and continuously improving Applied Materials\u2019 end-to-end TPRM program across procurement and commercial third parties. This role provides enterprise oversight for third parties and ensures a consistent, risk-based approach to third-party onboarding, due diligence, contracting handoffs, ongoing monitoring, issue management, and offboarding. The leader partners closely with Procurement, Sales/Commercial, Information Security, Privacy, Legal, Internal Audit, Finance, and business stakeholders to strengthen resilience, meet regulatory and customer expectations, and reduce operational and reputational risk across the third-party ecosystem.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\n * Strategic Leadership \u0026 Governance\n * Lead the development and execution of a global procurement risk and compliance strategy aligned with enterprise risk appetite and regulatory expectations.\n * Establish and maintain governance frameworks across procurement and Sales/Commercial functions\n * Serve as the primary liaison with Internal Audit, Legal, and Finance for procurement-related compliance and audit matters\n\n\n * Ensure contract compliance, risk mitigation, and alignment with business objectives through cross-functional collaboration with Legal, Sourcing, and Category Management\n * Oversee TPRM policy development and risk monitoring for third parties.\n\n\n\nProcurement Audit \u0026 Compliance\n\n * Lead internal and external audit engagements, ensuring timely remediation of findings and continuous improvement\n * Develop and maintain compliance dashboards, KPIs, and reporting mechanisms for executive leadership\n\n\n\nThird-Party Risk Management (TPRM)\n\n * Own and oversee the global TPRM program for Applied Materials, covering third parties across the full lifecycle (intake, risk tiering, due diligence, approval, onboarding, ongoing monitoring, issue remediation, and offboarding)\n * Design and implement a scalable, risk-based TPRM framework covering onboarding, monitoring, and offboarding of suppliers\n * Integrate risk tiering, due diligence, and ongoing monitoring into procurement workflows leveraging automation and AI-enabled tools\n * Ensure compliance with global regulations (e.g., General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)) and industry standards\n\n\n\nLeadership Qualities\n\n * Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence without authority in a matrixed, global environment.\n * Strong executive presence with the ability to communicate complex risk and compliance issues to senior stakeholders.\n * Demonstrated commitment to ethical leadership, transparency, and continuous improvement.\n\n\n\nQualifications\n\n * 10+ years of experience in procurement, contracting, compliance, audit, or risk management, preferably in a global organization.\n * Deep understanding of procurement processes, contract law, regulatory compliance, and third-party risk.\n * Experience with procurement systems (e.g., SAP Ariba), risk tools, and data analytics platforms.\n * Bachelor\u2019s degree in Business, Law, Finance, or related field; advanced degree or certifications (e.g., Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional - CCEP, Certified Third-Party Risk Management - CTPRP) preferred.\n\n\n\nPosition requires understanding of Applied Materials global Standards of Business Conduct and compliance with these standards at all times.
