The role


 


The Global Trade Operations analyst is responsible for supporting Avanos’ international supply chain activities are compliant with U.S. and foreign customs laws and regulations.  Including ensuring shipments are customs cleared within our service level agreements; coordinating with our customs brokers and agents to resolve any customs, carrier or other government agency holds; act as subject matter expert for imports and exports; providing accurate trade data to brokers and forwarders; generating statements of origin as requested; gathering data and reporting key metrics, and other duties as assigned.  


 


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


 




  • Generate and prepare inbound / outbound shipping reports to track and monitor imports / exports and resolve any clearance exceptions




  • Identify, address and resolve import shipment issues and customs clearances including:




    • Troubleshooting root cause of issues and requests




    • Obtaining & providing any necessary FDA, HTS, country of origin, or ISF data




    • Providing clear, concise responses to customs brokers / agents




    • Escalating as required to the appropriate team member (i.e. Transportation, Plant Logistics Manager, Procurement, Customer Service)




    • Monitor import goods receipt to file any post entry corrections






  • Identify, address and resolve outbound shipment issues for exports, including:




    • Assist export customer service resolving document requirements and EEI filings required for export clearances




    • Provide accurate export documentation to appropriate business partners




    • Provide clear, concise shipping instructions were necessary






  • Support CTPAT cargo security program through the adding, tracking and status reporting of business partners management, including conflict minerals and forced labor analysis




  • Research, monitor and work weekly restricted party screening reports including escalations




  • Provide meaningful metrics and KPI for trade activity reporting including weekly operations and broker or forwarder metrics




  • Assist with documenting and updating procedures, including trade compliance manual




  • Assisting foreign affiliates with trade compliance activities and requests (e.g. data management, metrics, reporting)

  • Providing trade compliance support to other regions.

Your qualifications


 


Required:




  • 4-6 years direct or related experience




  • Bachelor’s Degree, equivalent degree, or related experience




  • Demonstrates critical thinking skills and ability to be detailed orientated




  • Knowledge of ERP, Automated Commercial Environment (ACE), other trade management systems




  • Experience in Microsoft applications




  • Excellent customer service skills




  • Excellent written and verbal skills




  • Ability to work at least three days per week (ideally Tuesday – Thursday) in the office or be available for onsite workshops when required




 


Preferred:




  • Excellent research and analytical skills a plus




  • Experience in processing US import and/or export customs declarations




  • Experience with US Tariff Classification and / or Country of Origin determination




  • Experience with SAP, global trade management systems, or TMS




  • Licensed Customs Broker, CCS, CES a plus
