GMC Temporary Help HVAC Technician

Responsibilities: 

• Act as a helping hand for the technician team—getting tools, supplies, or equipment as needed


• 
  

  Maintain a clean and organized work area (shop, vehicles, and job sites)

  
  


• 
  

  Assist with loading and unloading materials and equipment

  
  


• 
  

  Perform basic assembly, prep work, or disassembly as directed

  
  


• 
  

  Help with inventory counts and supply organization

  
  


• 
  

  Dispose of trash or scrap materials appropriately

  
  


• 
  

  Other general labor duties as assigned by supervisors or technicians

  
  

Experience:

• 0 - 2 years of experience in the related field.

Nature and Scope:

• Works within well-defined instructions  


• Uses established procedures and works under supervision to perform assigned tasks   


• Work is closely supervised

Knowledge and Skills:

• 
  

  Basic HVAC Systems: Understanding of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems, including components like ductwork, vents, and thermostats.

  Tool Usage: Familiarity with hand and power tools commonly used in HVAC installation and maintenance (e.g., drills, saws, wrenches).

  
  


• 
  

  Safety Standards: Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations and procedures related to HVAC work, including proper lifting techniques and PPE usage.

  Materials Handling: Understanding of common HVAC materials (e.g., insulation, piping, sheet metal) and how to transport, load, and store them properly.

  Basic Electrical and Plumbing Concepts: Awareness of simple electrical and plumbing connections related to HVAC units (wiring, water lines, drainage).
