As a GNC Engineer \u2013 Level 3 or Level 4 located in Chandler, AZ, you\u2019ll be a linchpin in missions of paramount importance, defining the art of the possible from day one. This position is 100% onsite and cannot accommodate telecommute work.\n\nIn this role, you will contribute to the success of vital defense systems that protect the nation by supporting cutting-edge development of upcoming long-range missile defense interceptors, targets, space launch, and strike vehicles.\n\nThis position will work a 9/80 schedule, with every other Friday off.\n\nYour Role and Impact:\n\n * Provide priority navigation technical contributions for multiple programs (missile\u2011defense targets, next\u2011generation interceptors, other missile and rocket projects)\n * Develop and analyze inertial, satellite\u2011based, and integrated navigation system solutions\n * Perform customer\u2011provided requirement analysis for navigation systems\n * Support flight\u2011software development and testing within simulation environments\n * Collaborate with the Navigation, Analysis and Simulation group to drive GNC engineering outcomes\n * Contribute to design reviews, trade studies, and technical documentation for GNC aspects\n * Ensure compliance with defense standards and schedule for long\u2011range missile\u2011defense interceptors, targets, space\u2011launch, and strike vehicles\n\n\n * Other duties as assigned\n\n\n\nIf this job description reads like it was written specifically for you, consider joining our team!\n\nThis position is contingent upon the candidate obtaining final clearances and program access(es) within a reasonable period of time as determined by the company.\n\nThis position can be filled at either a Level 3 or Level 4.\n\nBasic Qualifications for Level 3:\n\n * Bachelor\u2019s degree with 5 years of professional experience \u2013 OR \u2013 Master\u2019s degree with 3 years of professional experience \u2013 OR \u2013 PhD with 1 year of professional experience. Will consider an additional 4+ years of experience in lieu of degree.\n * Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance\n * Experience with Inertial, Satellite-Based, or Integrated Navigation Systems\n\n\n\nBasic Qualifications for Level 4:\n\n * Bachelor\u2019s degree with 8 years of professional experience \u2013 OR \u2013 Master\u2019s degree with 6 years of professional experience \u2013 OR \u2013 PhD with 4 years of professional experience. Will consider an additional 4+ years of experience in lieu of degree.\n * Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance\n * Experience with Inertial, Satellite-Based, or Integrated Navigation System, IMU modeling, GPS sensor familiarity\n\n\n\nPreferred Qualifications: \n\n * Active DoD Secret Security Clearance, or higher\n * Experience in strategic navigation\n * Experience with the C++, MATLAB, Simulink, and Python programming languages\n * Experience with the Linux Operating System\n * Experience with relevant navigation sensors including IMUs, GPS receivers, and/or radar altimeters\n * Experience in testing, designing, and/or reviewing data from Kalman Filters\n * Experience in navigation algorithms design and/or review\n * Experience designing, testing, and/or reviewing data for navigation systems for launch vehicles\n * Experience in Modeling, Simulation, Analysis and Requirements Definition of Navigation Systems\n * Excellent communication skills\n\n\n\nCurious about all the exciting developments with the Northrop Grumman Space Sector? Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
