Golf Course Assistant Superintendent

As the Golf Course Assistant Superintendent at New Albany Country Club, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and ensuring the excellence of our golf course. You will work closely with the Lead Golf Course Superintendent to help oversee and manage all aspects of the course's maintenance and agronomic practices. This is a hands-on position that requires ensuring excellent playing conditions, managing personnel, and coordinating resources effectively while maintaining high standards of quality and environmental stewardship.

Responsibilities

• Assists in planning, coordinating, and supervising all golf course maintenance activities.


• Train, schedule, and manage the maintenance team, ensuring efficient operation.


• Assist the Irrigation Technician and Horticulturist with the irrigation systems, pesticide applications, and water management.


• Conduct routine inspections of the golf course to maintain optimal turf health.


• Ensure Compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to environmental and safety standards.


• Support the Lead Superintendent in budgeting, purchasing, and record-keeping.


• Person in charge in the absence of the Lead Superintendent and act as the primary point of contact.


• All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Degree or certificate in Turf Management, Agronomy, or related field preferred.


• Minimum 2-3 years of relevant experience with prior supervisory responsibilities.


• Knowledge of modern turfgrass management techniques, irrigation systems, and pest control.


• Strong communication, problem-solving, and leadership abilities.


• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.


• Physically able to bend, lift, and endure prolonged standing.


• Must be willing and able to work on weekends and holidays during the growing season.

Salary

$54,000 - $56,000 based on experience.
