Golf Course Custodian-Clifton Park

Job Summary

The Golf Course Custodian is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of the golf course facilities, including clubhouses, restrooms, and other public areas, trash removal and general facility upkeep. Key duties include cleaning and restocking restrooms, sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors, and ensuring all public areas are secure and presentable for guests. This role often involves using cleaning chemicals and power equipment, following safety protocols, and potentially assisting with other tasks as directed.

Essential Functions

• Perform daily cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming. 
• Clean and maintain restrooms and showers, ensuring they are stocked with supplies and presentable throughout the day. 
• Gather and empty all trash bins and manage waste and recycling activities. 
• Conduct floor care to prevent damage and maintain the appearance of floors. 
• Clean windows and doors, ensure public areas are secure, and keep janitorial closets organized. 
• Properly label, dilute, and use all cleaning chemicals, adhering to all health and safety regulations. 
• Operate power cleaning equipment such as vacuums and assist with other facility-related equipment. 
• Collecting trash or keeping grounds tidy. 
• Interact with guests and provide a clean and welcoming environment.

Work Environment

This job operates in a recreational environment including working outside in the heat or cold. This role routinely uses equipment such as vacuums and other cleaning equipment.

Experience/Qualifications

• General knowledge of commercial cleaning helpful

• Self-starter/self-motivated. Ability to manage workload and duties efficiently to ensure completion to an excellent standard within scheduled working hours
• Valid Maryland state driver’s license
• Must be available for weekend, holiday, and shift work

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

Seasonal part-time position.  This role is expected to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Based on weather conditions, staffing, and the busyness of the golf course this role could work from 15 – 40 or more hours per week during the season.
