Grain/Fert-Chem Tech

Duties

Duties include but are not limited to the following:

Grain Elevator Operations:

• Operate equipment for receiving, drying, conveying, and storing grain.


• Perform grain sampling, grading, and quality testing.


• Assist with loading and shipping grain orders.


• Conduct routine equipment inspections and maintenance.


• Maintain cleanliness and safety in the grain facility.

Fertilizer & Chemical Handling:

• Receive, store, and manage fertilizer and chemical inventory.


• Prepare and mix fertilizer and chemical blends for delivery or application.


• Safely handle and operate equipment for liquid and dry fertilizer distribution.


• Maintain accurate records of product usage and inventory.


• Assist with loading deliveries and dispatching to applicators or farms.                        

Minimum Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.


• Experience in grain handling, fertilizer, or chemical operations is a plus.


• Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn equipment operation and maintenance.


• Ability to work in physically demanding environments (lifting, climbing, exposure to dust and chemicals).


• Valid driver’s license required; CDL or pesticide applicator license a plus.


• Strong focus on safety and adherence to protocols.

Skills and abilities

• Strong mechanical and technical skills preferred


• Knowledge of agricultural crop protection and equipment


• Communication skills

Physical Demands

Physically able to perform all requirements including but not limited to:                                                 

• Ability to walk stairs and climb up/down and in and around equipment and facility


• Standing and walking for several hours for an extended period of time


• General cleaning and housekeeping
