JOB SUMMARY Reporting to the Government Relations and Grants Manager, this position will perform a variety grant reporting, research, administrative, and writing tasks to support Asheville Area Habitat for Humanity’s (AAHH) annual grant funding program goals and objectives.
To be successful in this position applicant should have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in Microsoft Office; also excellent communication skills, including the ability to write and speak clearly and effectively, with a capacity to engage, inspire, and persuade, and Ability to collaborate well with others in a dynamic environment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS In collaboration with Grants Team:
Gather information and data from all AAHH departments for grant applications, reports to funders, reports to the Board, and other grant documents
Research and identify grant opportunities and potential funding sources
Maintain accurate and detailed database entry (DonorPerfect) and pull grant, donation, and constituent reports
Organize and maintain accurate files and records of grant applications, awards, reports, and expenditures
Work with Finance Department and auditors to meet reporting requirements
Assist with developing grant proposals, including narratives, budgets, and attachments
Work with Fund Development and Communications on funder recognition activities
Coordinate signatures for funding agreements and contracts
Participate in volunteer and funder stewardship activities including jobsite visits, dedication events, and fundraisers
Assist with scheduling meetings and coordinating grantor speakers for events
Represent AAHH in public settings, exercising discretion and judgment
Stay informed about grant funding trends and changes in the funding landscape
Explore technology solutions for improving grant management and workflow
Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and CRM (DonorPerfect preferred)
Excellent communication skills, including the ability to write and speak clearly and effectively, with a capacity to engage, inspire, and persuade
Ability to collaborate well with others in a dynamic environment
Experience with grant writing and reporting preferred but training can be provided to the right candidate
Strong planning skills, including the ability to anticipate tasks, set priorities, meet deadlines, and function smoothly under shifting priorities
Demonstrated self-motivation and ability to work independently
Enjoyment in creating relationships with a diverse group of constituents and maintaining them to a high standard of excellence
A commitment to racial, gender, and economic equity and proven experience working successfully with diverse stakeholders
Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and a commitment to and passion for the mission of AAHH
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Full-time, 40-hour work week; 32 hours will be considered
Hybrid working environment
Operates primarily in a professional office environment and routinely requires operating standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and printers
Occasionally works in outside conditions that can include inclement weather, heat and humidity, high noise levels and navigating rough terrain
Must be able to travel to meetings and events and between AAHH’s offices and jobsites
Evening and/or weekend working hours required on occasion
