JOB TITLE:                   Grants and Development Manager


DEPARTMENT:               Business Office          


FLSA STATUS:             Exempt, Full-Time, Salary


SALARY:                        $55,000


REPORTS TO:                 Business Administrator

POSITION SUMMARY


The Grants and Development Administrator is responsible for developing and executing comprehensive fundraising strategies and ensuring compliance with all agency-awarded grants. This role combines leadership in fund development, donor relations, marketing and communications, and financial accountability for grant compliance and reporting. This position works closely with the Executive Director and Business Administrator to meet financial goals and ensure regulatory compliance while supporting the mission of the organization.


 


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



  1. Develop and implement annual fundraising and marketing plans aligned with the agency’s strategic goals.

  2. Collaborate with the Executive Director, Board of Directors, Finance Director and Business Administrator to meet organizational revenue targets.

  3. Oversee and evaluate all fundraising activities, including major gifts, planned giving, direct mail campaigns, special events, corporate sponsorships, and grant writing.

  4. Maintain a donor portfolio, cultivating and stewarding relationships with individual, corporate, and foundation donors.

  5. Lead and supervise all development staff, interns, and volunteers.

  6. Coordinate donor recognition and gift acknowledgment processes.

  7. Manage donor information system and reporting.

  8. Represent the organization at community events, speaking engagements, and partner meetings.

  9. Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local grant regulations and reporting requirements.

  10. Submit timely and accurate reports through various systems.

  11. Support grant application process by assisting with preparing budgets and necessary documentation.

  12. Monitor cash receipts and ensure accurate reporting across departments.

  13. Assist in preparing audit work papers and assist external auditors.

  14. Work with Finance Director to prepare monthly financial reports and other required financial documentation.

  15. Serve as a member of the leadership team to provide strategic input and decision-making.

  16. Develop department policies and procedures for fundraising, marketing, and grant compliance.

  17. Foster community relationships and represent the organization to funding bodies and stakeholders.

  18. Track key performance metrics and adjust strategies to improve outcomes.

  19. Participate in trainings, conferences, and continuous improvement efforts.

  20. Adhere to all organizational policies and procedures.

  21. Assist in program support, budget oversight, and operational planning.

  22. Respond to partner concerns and ensure high customer service standards.

  23. Perform other duties as needed, requested or assigned.


 


QUALIFICATIONS


Bachelor’s degree in related field and appropriate/ related prior work experience. Skill level for an acceptable degree level should be coupled with demonstrated increased responsibility directly related to job duties and responsibilities. Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills. Must be a leader, motivator, team player, have a positive attitude and the ability to interact well with donors, partners, and the board.



KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED



  1. Strong knowledge of nonprofit fund development, major gift cultivation, and grant management.

  2. Awareness of accounting principles and experience with general ledger, A/P, and A/R.

  3. Skilled in financial and donor database software.

  4. Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.

  5. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Word.

  6. Demonstrated ability to work with a team collaboratively across departments.

  7. High level of integrity, professionalism, and discretion in handling sensitive information.

  8. Capacity to work independently, handle multiple projects, and meet deadlines.



WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS


Work is moderately active and includes standing and sitting for long periods. May require lifting up to 50 pounds. Travel in and out of state for trainings, conferences, and seminars is possible.



MENTAL DEMANDS


Must be able to manage multiple tasks, deadlines, and completing priorities while remaining calm and solution focused. High attention to detail and accountability in financial and donor data handling.
