Job Description - Granulation Team Lead

At Sibanye-Stillwater Reldan, every role plays a vital part in building a cleaner, more sustainable future. We transform materials responsibly and efficiently, with a deep commitment to environmental stewardship and operational excellence.

We’re looking for a motivated and safety-focused Granulation Team Leader to join our team. In this hands-on leadership role, you’ll guide and support a dedicated team within our materials recovery operations — ensuring production goals, safety standards, and quality expectations are consistently met.

If you lead by example, take pride in teamwork, and value continuous improvement, this is your opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a company where your work truly matters.

Job Purpose

To lead and coordinate daily operations within the Granulation Department, ensuring efficient material processing, team performance, and compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day granulation operations to meet production goals.

  • Provide direction, coaching, and support to team members for safe, effective performance.

  • Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.

  • Monitor and record departmental metrics accurately using Excel and online databases.

  • Coordinate with Quality Assurance to ensure compliance with product and process standards.

  • Oversee proper processing, separation, and staging of materials for later production stages.

  • Champion the FIFO (First In, First Out) initiative to ensure material flow accuracy.

  • Identify training needs and support team skill development.

  • Maintain compliance with internal documentation, ISO, and operational procedures.

  • Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance productivity and safety.

Education and Work Experience Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.

  • Previous experience in manufacturing, recycling, or material recovery preferred.

  • Proven leadership or team lead experience required.

  • Forklift experience a plus.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).

  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Compliance Requirements

Employment in this position requires compliance with NAID (National Association for Information Destruction) standards and ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) requirements. Candidates must meet all applicable compliance criteria to be eligible for employment.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift, push, pull, or move up to 50 lbs.

  • Must be able to stand for prolonged periods (up to eight hours).

  • Frequent bending, stooping, crouching, reaching, and repetitive motions required.

  • Ability to wear and properly utilize PPE for assigned work areas.

Schedule

Shift: Monday–Friday, 1:30 PM to 10:00 PM
Location: Onsite only — collaboration and safety thrive in person.

Benefits

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance available the first of the month after 30 days of employment.

  • 401(k) with company match after 6 months:

    • Dollar-for-dollar match up to 3%.

    • Fifty cents on the dollar for the next 2%.

  • Up to 80 vacation hours and 56 sick leave hours in the first year.

  • One personal holiday and two community days annually.

  • Paid holidays, including the day after Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve.

  • Company-provided safety shoes twice per year.

  • Complimentary bi-weekly team lunches and company-sponsored events, including an annual Company Picnic and Holiday Party.
