Position Overview
OGT is seeking a talented and detail-oriented GUI Developer willing to learn Delphi / Object Pascal and develop front-end user experiences on our high-fidelity desktop simulation suite. In this role, you will be responsible for transforming complex chemical process data, thermodynamic calculation engines, and scientific workflows into sleek, highly intuitive, and responsive graphical user interfaces (GUIs). You will bridge the gap between heavy mathematical backend execution and an exceptional user experience, ensuring our clients can seamlessly model, chart, and visualize intensive engineering data.
Core Responsibilities
Required Qualifications
Education: B.S. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline (or an Associates degree plus equivalent practical experience).
Experience: 3+ years of professional software engineering, development, programming, or UI design experience.
Delphi Expertise is not required. If you have exposure or hands-on development experience with Delphi, it is a strong plus. But more importantly, we need a strong willingness to learn and master Delphi and Object Pascal, and to develop a strong command of the Visual Component Library (VCL) framework.
UI Component Experience: Direct, hands-on experience utilizing and configuring complex third-party grid, charting, and layout suites (e.g., DevExpress VCL, TMS Component Pack).
Architecture & Memory: Deep understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP) principles (e.g. Pascal, C++, Java, or C#), custom component design, object lifecycles, and native memory management.
Data Visualization: Proven track record of building data-dense software interfaces, including interactive charts, graphs, or schematics that handle real-time or calculation-heavy data streams.
Preferred/Bonus Qualifications
Delphi and Object Pascal experience is a strong plus; along with a strong command of the Visual Component Library (VCL) framework.
Experience with FireMonkey (FMX) for cross-platform desktop compilation is a bonus.
Background or familiarity working with scientific, industrial automation, CAD/CAE, or engineering simulation software is a plus.
Experience interfacing desktop front-ends with relational databases or data extraction pipelines (Excel/COM integration) is also a bonus.
Professional Attributes for Success
The "Get-It-Done" Mindset: A proactive, self-motivated worker who thrives in a high-autonomy, tight-knit, small-company culture.
Technical Collaboration: A genuine commitment to knowledge sharing and collaborative problem-solving alongside a highly specialized engineering team.
Analytical Precision: Great attention to detail regarding user interaction patterns, ensuring engineers can input complex process variables quickly and error-free.
What We Offer
Highly competitive base salary commensurate with specialized Delphi training and resources.
Full training resources and mentorship to master specialized Delphi/VCL engineering.
A comprehensive benefits package.
A relaxed, high-autonomy working environment with your team right here in quiet Buda, TX.
Optimized Gas Treating, Inc. (OGT) is an equal opportunity employer.
