Job Description

The driver operator is responsible for driving and operating company vehicles to and from customer locations and to maintain a safe, clean, and professional operation at all times. The driver will be responsible for loading and unloading railroad materials. The driver will also be responsible for maintaining the vehicle, equipment, and property of the vehicle at all times. The driver will also be responsible for working and assisting team members. Must have at least 1 year of experience operating a grapple truck. This is a traveling position.

Responsibilities

• Performs pre-trip and post-trip inspection of trucks, trailers, and equipment in accordance with Company policy and D.O.T. regulations.


• Actively participates in daily safety briefings.


• Follows all required safety policies and procedures.


• Operate Grapple and magnet to move, stage, load/unload railroad materials.


• Ensure that specifications, knowledge of weights and procedures for material handling are in place prior to commencing work.


• Works with hydraulic tools, welding, cutting with torches, electrical tools and common hand tools in accomplishment of work assignments.


• Continuously monitors equipment/vehicles to minimize downtime and to ensure operational readiness.


• Maintains vehicles/equipment to ensure that they are cleaned of debris/trash, tools and equipment are organized and that the vehicle/equipment presents the level of quality our customers expect.


• Must pass qualification tests as required (includes E-Rail Safe and other training/safety programs) prior to beginning employment.
