Position Summary
Santa Clara Pueblos Green House Manager will oversee the daily operations of the greenhouse. They
may work with the public or in business-to-business arrangements and they must be knowledgeable
about stages of plant life and diseases. Green house manager will plan, organize, direct, control, and
coordinate activities of workers engaged in cultivation, propagates, and harvesting of seeds. The Green
House Manager will exhibit mastery of plant care, familiarity with greenhouse technology and equipment,
as well as business and management competencies, are paramount for ensuring both plant vitality and
operational efficiency.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Monitoring plant health to distinguish what is favorable/ unfavorable to plant growth.
Oversee inventory and management of plants.
Maintains cultivation records.
Assist in plant records collection, including inventory, labeling, and data entry.
Supervises Greenhouse staff if applicable.
Ability to operate greenhouse technology and equipment to ensure plant growth.
Assisting with cultivation and propagation
Managing greenhouse climate systems to create favorable growing conditions.
Knowledgeable in pest and disease management.
Maintaining cleanliness of green house
Provides opportunities for tours of the facility maintains vendor relationships (ordering, stocking,
managing supplies)
Involved with community engagement includes youth activities.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Demonstrated knowledge of plant nutrition, soil science, and pest management.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Skill in planning, scheduling, directing, projects and reviewing to obtain effective and positive
outcomes.
Ability to act in an independent and conscientious manner using sound judgment.
Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Knowledge of research methods, techniques and procedures
Skill in understanding and applying complex policies, procedures, rules, regulations and guidelines.
Experience in greenhouse management.
Must possess great customer service skills.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
Plant Care monitoring.

Upkeep general maintenance of green house.
Ability to supervise plant growth, greenhouse maintenance, and landscaping.
Skilled in hydroponics, greenhouse production, and disease control.
Proficiency in Microsoft applications. (Microsoft word, Excel, Power point, Outlook etc.)
Knowledgeable in pest and disease management
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in horticulture, agriculture, or related field.
At least 3 years of experience working as a greenhouse manager, nursery manager, or similar role.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. If an item is above 80 pounds, lifting shall be done by two or more staff members. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus. This position is routinely exposed to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage. Travel may be required. May be required to work occasional nights and/or weekends. The employee must be physically capable and willing to endure extended periods of work under a wide variety of environmental conditions. Approximately 60% of this work is performed in the field. The incumbent must be in good physical condition and be able to traverse to perform and coordinate seed collection, planting of both forestry and agriculture products.

Employment Requirements
Successful completion of thorough background investigation and MVD check.
Employees must comply with Tribal Safety Guidelines, Policies and Procedures.
Successful completion of the mandatory National Incident Management Training (NIMS) within the first 90 days of employment.
Must pass a drug/alcohol test.
Must have a valid New Mexico Driver's License and insurable through the Tribe's carrier and not have any DUI/DWI convictions within the last five (5) years from any Tribal, State or Federal Court.
Must take and pass a current driving course from General Services Administration.
