Greenskeeper II

REPORTS TO: DIRECTOR OF AGRONOMY | SUPERINTENDENT | ASSISTANT SUPERINTENDENT

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

· Perform all Greenskeeper I duties with increased independence and limited supervision.

· Perform golf course maintenance tasks including mowing greens, tees, fairways, rough, approaches, and practice areas using specialized golf course maintenance equipment.

· Operate golf course maintenance equipment safely and effectively, including hand-operated, riding, and specialized mowing equipment.

· Rake bunkers and perform bunker maintenance including edging, repair, sand maintenance, and presentation standards.

· Participate in daily golf course set-up activities including changing hole locations, placing tee markers, setting ropes and stakes, and maintaining course presentation standards.

· Perform detailed turf maintenance including divot repair, sod work, seeding, topdressing assistance, and turf recovery projects.

· Assist with irrigation troubleshooting, sprinkler head repair, drainage work, hand watering, and irrigation system maintenance.

· Perform trimming, edging, blowing, planting, mulching, debris removal, and general landscape maintenance.

· Assist with small-scale golf course improvement and construction projects as assigned.

· Identify turf, irrigation, safety, or maintenance concerns and report issues to Golf Course management.

· Train and assist Greenskeeper I team members in proper procedures, equipment operation, safety standards, and department expectations.

· Ensure assigned tasks and end-of-day procedures are completed in accordance with department SOPs.

· Maintain cleanliness, care, and organization of assigned equipment, tools, maintenance areas, and workspaces.

· Follow all Club safety procedures, PPE requirements, department standards, and operational expectations.

· Maintain a professional appearance, positive attitude, and strong working relationships with co-workers, management, members, and guests.

• Ability to independently perform intermediate golf course maintenance duties with minimal supervision.
• Working knowledge of golf course maintenance practices, groundskeeping procedures, and turf care standards.
• Ability to safely operate a wide range of golf course maintenance equipment and machinery.
• Ability to perform detailed mowing and golf course presentation work to Club standards.
• Basic working knowledge of irrigation systems, sprinkler components, and troubleshooting techniques preferred.
• Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions and department SOPs.
• Ability to identify safety concerns and maintenance deficiencies and communicate them to management.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to golf course presentation standards.
• Ability to train, mentor, and provide support to entry-level Greenskeepers.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including extreme temperatures, wind, dust, and uneven terrain.
• Ability to work flexible schedules including early mornings, weekends, holidays, overtime, and varied seasonal schedules as business needs require.
• Reliable attendance, punctuality, and commitment to workplace safety required.
• Prior golf course maintenance, landscaping, irrigation, groundskeeping, agriculture, or related outdoor maintenance experience preferred.
• Yearly training requirements as demanded by the county, state, and federal regulations. 

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

• Relevant training certifications in industry topics helpful.
• Work Authorization/Security Clearance 
• Proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
• Criminal and civil background clearance.

Work Environment 

This job operates in a professional club environment. This role operates with standard golf course and landscaping maintenance equipment. Service areas to include the golf courses, practice facilities, landscaped grounds, Clubhouse exterior grounds, maintenance facilities, and other Club property locations.

Frequent walking in operational areas to identify problems or hazards. Incumbents in this classification bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and inspect work sites. Incumbents must possess the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects weighing up to 40 pounds or heavier weights with assistance and/or the use of proper equipment.

• Pinching Picking, pinching or otherwise working primarily with fingers rather than the whole hand.
• Neck Rotation/

• Repetitive or prolonged movement of the foot and ankle.
• Visual Acuity Near-Visual acuity with clarity at 20 inches or less
• Far-Visual acuity with clarity at 20 feet or more

• Carrying Transporting an object, usually holding in the hands/arms or on shoulders.
• Exposure to noise levels greater than 90 dbe per eight *8) hour workday as per OSHA requirements.
