Grocery Specialist

Summary

Grocery Specialists are responsible for promoting store profitability by keeping store shelves and cases fully stocked and providing excellent customer service.

Grocery Specialists promote Mackenthun's Exceptional Experience by greeting every customer with a smile, offering assistance, and answering questions.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Place delivered and back stock product onto store shelves, properly face and rotate product, clean shelves, cases and displays, ensure items are restocked in an efficient and timely manner.

Organize and maintain proper sanitation in the warehouse area and store.

Other Duties

Assist and support Grocery Manager in training new team members.

Assist with and participate in Mackenthun's Experience events by providing proper signage, creative merchandising, and involvement with promotions that make Mackenthun's unique.

As needed, perform building maintenance including, but not limited to, shoveling snow, cleaning store entrance and exit, sweeping/mopping floors.

As needed, bag groceries and/or deliver customer/special orders using company supplied vehicles.

Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Qualifications

Minimum Age: 16 Years Old

High School diploma preferred.

Must be skilled in basic math.

Stock experience preferred, but not necessary.

Must have a valid MN Driver's License.

Must be able to work evenings, weekends and holidays.

Must be able to work independently and as a team, have solid problem solving skills and excellent decision making capabilities.

Ability to prioritize and efficiently perform duties.

Must have an interest in food and promoting Mackenthun's Exceptional Experience for customers and coworkers.

Minimize company losses due to improper product handling and storage.

Perform duties in a manner that safeguards company equipment, resources and image.

Express a positive attitude, focus on customer needs and provide excellent customer service.

Must be willing to learn the characteristics and qualities of the products and services Mackenthun's offers.

Must have excellent communication skills, verbal and written. Must be able to speak, read, and write the English language.

Physical Demands

Regular/constant standing/walking/seeing/hearing for long periods of time.

Frequent bending at waist, reaching with hands and arms, above shoulders/below waist, crouching/stooping/kneeling, climbing stairs, climbing ladders, lifting and carrying up to 100 lbs, pushing/pulling up to 2750 lbs. with use of pallet jack.

Position requires close/distance/peripheral vision, depth perception and color vision.

Training

Training provided in current Grocery Department standards and procedures, personal safety and harassment prevention.

May be trained on operation of lift truck, pallet jack, compactor, inventory and ordering equipment, and/or delivery procedures. (Age Restrictions Apply)

Work Environment

Must be able to work in a variety of environments including hot or cold temperatures, individually or in teams, and be flexible as to the task at hand.

Exposure to cleaning chemicals.
