Groundhand (UG crew)

McCall-Thomas Engineering Company is seeking a 1099 (Contractor) Groundhand for work requiring require travel in the Southeast, with current projects in SC, GA and NC.

Benefits are not offered for contract (1099) hires, but if this position transitions to a regular full-time employee of McCall-Thomas, benefits would be available at the time of transition.

In the Groundhand role, you will be working alongside a team of dedicated individuals committed to our mission of providing quality solutions and services to each of our clients.

The primary responsibilities for this role will require that this contractor:  

• Work as a part of an underground line crew


• Load, unload, layout and prep tools/supplies/equipment/materials needed at each job site


• Assist as required in all manual labor aspects of the project as directed by the Lineman, Lead, or Supervisor


• Handle physically demanding construction duties as needed

What Will You Need:

• Eligibility to work in the US without any form of sponsorship


• High School diploma or GED
  


• Must be able to follow instructions and have good communication skills


• Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, dig, and reach.


• Must be able to climb ladders.


• Must be willing to travel - project locations will change


• Must be able to perform strenuous physical labor under all types of weather conditions


• Must be committed to working safely


• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record 

This is a 1099 Contractor position. Conversion to full-time regular employment with benefits is not guaranteed.
