Grounds Maintenance Laborer

Seeking a Grounds Maintenance Laborer for our Fort A.P. Hill, VA contract. This position will require Building and Grounds Maintenance/Janitorial experience and excellent work ethic.

The following are key responsibilities associated with this position:

• Assist in repair of buildings.
• Assist with drywall repair and painting.
• Change light bulbs.
• Change HVAC filters.
• Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming them.
• Strip, seal, finish, wax, and polish floors.
• Mix water and detergents in containers to prepare cleaning solutions, according to specifications.
• Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors, using soapy water or other cleaners,
• Steam-clean or shampoo carpets.
• Clean restrooms
• Dust furniture, walls, machines, and equipment.
• Gather and empty trash.
• Cut grass using riding and push mowers.
• Edge sidewalks and roads.
• Trim hedges and sidewalks.
• Trim grass along fences and other areas using a powered trimmer.
• Clean mowing and trimming debris from sidewalks and roads by sweeping and powered blower.
• Other duties assigned by Project Manager

The ideal candidate will possess the skills and experience to perform building repairs, proper use of tools and powered equipment safely and effectively and will be able to work in a team environment completing all associated tasks.

Required education: High school or equivalent.

Preferred experience: 2 Years Custodial Experience

Primary place of performance: Fort A.P. Hill, VA

Must be a Citizen of the US

Must have valid State Driver’s License

Must have reliable Transportation.

Must pass federal background check.

Required license or certification: Driver's License

Rate of Pay: $17.86 per hour plus Health and Welfare benefit of $5.09 per hour
