SUMMARY: Oversees and participates in the general maintenance, and repair work on Teton County/Jackson grounds,
parks and right of ways. Provides oversight and training to seasonal staff.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The job description is subject to change at any time by the employer. Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Performs various maintenance tasks including but not limited to field lining, game preparation, snow removal, mowing,
ice rink surfacing, trail grooming, and litter collection.
• Applies pesticides and weed control chemicals; maintains records of chemical and pesticide inventories and usage.
• Operates specialized equipment, power tools and machinery.
• Trains new employees; prioritizes and assigns tasks; provides supervision to seasonal Maintenance Technicians.
• Assists with the preparation of the Department’s budget; corresponds with vendors to order supplies and equipment.
• Supports the relationship between the Teton County staff and the general public by demonstrating courteous and
cooperative behavior when interacting with visitors and County staff; maintains confidentiality of work-related issues and
County information; performs other duties as required or assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience:
• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• 1-3 years grounds and facilities maintenance experience of which includes six months supervisory experience
Required Licenses and Certifications:
• Must possess a valid Wyoming/Idaho Driver’s License and maintain an acceptable driving record.
Required Knowledge of:
• County policies and procedures.
• Proper use of power tools, hand tools and equipment.
• Principles and practices of effective project management, leadership, supervision and training.
• Safety rules and regulations, occupational hazards, and safety precautions.
• Methods and techniques involved in landscaping and turf maintenance.
Physical Demands/Work Environment:
• Work is performed both indoors and outdoors; requires constant physical efforts, and may be exposed to dangerous tools
and equipment; safety precautions must be followed, including use of safety equipment.
• Required to work routine nights and weekends.
POSITION DESCRIPTION:

• Following written and verbal instructions.
• Applying chemicals and pesticides in accordance with regulations and standards.
• Performing maintenance and repair work on sprinkler and irrigation systems.
