Job Summary
We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Grounds Person to join our team at View at Stonecrest. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will ensure that the grounds of our beautiful garden-style apartment community remain clean, safe, and aesthetically pleasing for residents and visitors.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in maintaining a welcoming environment, and thrives in a team-oriented setting.
Key Responsibilities
Grounds Maintenance
- Perform daily upkeep of common areas, including sidewalks, parking lots, playgrounds, and green spaces.
- Remove debris, trash, and litter from grounds.
- Maintain landscaping by trimming shrubs, pulling weeds, and assisting with planting or mulching as needed.
Safety and Repairs
- Identify and report safety hazards, such as broken sidewalks, damaged fencing, or malfunctioning outdoor lighting.
- Perform minor repairs and maintenance on outdoor equipment and structures, such as benches or playground equipment.
Seasonal Tasks
- Assist with snow and ice removal during winter months.
- Manage leaf collection, seasonal planting, and other landscape transitions.
Resident Engagement
- Respond to resident concerns about outdoor spaces promptly and professionally.
- Collaborate with the maintenance team to ensure shared amenities are clean and functional.
Additional Duties
- Support the maintenance team with apartment turnover tasks as needed.
- Participate in on-call responsibilities if required.
Qualifications
Required Skills & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to operate landscaping tools and equipment safely (e.g., lawnmowers, trimmers, leaf blowers).
- Basic knowledge of groundskeeping and landscaping practices.
- Physical ability to perform tasks that involve lifting (up to 50 lbs), walking, standing, and working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in groundskeeping or landscaping.
- Familiarity with irrigation systems and minor repair work.
