Grounds Service Technician

General Summary

Responsible for maintaining Rayburn Country Electric Cooperative, Inc.’s (Rayburn) grounds, and equipment.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities / Knowledge

• Performs grounds keeping maintenance duties including mowing, weed eating, trimming trees and shrubs, cleaning flowerbeds and trash pick-up.


• Completes weekly equipment safety inspections and submits to supervisor.


• Obtains certification and operates various equipment and machinery as needed including forklifts, telehandlers, and skid loaders.


• Reports any unsafe conditions or needed maintenance repairs to supervisor.


• Provides department support when supervisor is not available.


• Works with supervisor to adhere to a maintenance schedule.


• Preforms Agronomy and Horticulture fertilization and care throughout the year.


• Knowledge in pruning and arbor care.


• Responsible for offsite mowing and upkeep.

Key Accountabilities

• Complies with all policies, procedures and confidentiality requirements or obligations, effective as a result of employment with Rayburn.


• Timely shares complete information with others including Rayburn management and staff, contractors, and other third parties, as required.


• Timely provides supervisor with complete reports on work and tasks performed as such reports are requested or required.


• Supervise/escort all contractors aboard Rayburn campus.


• Performs any other duties as assigned by supervisor or executive management.

Job Specifications / Skills Required

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent

Experience:

General grounds maintenance and grounds equipment knowledge preferred

Skills:

·         Ability to safely operate various types of machinery and equipment

·         Ability to organize and maintain inventory

·         Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license

Demands

• Ability to perform repetitive motions in order to use a computer keyboard, mouse and operate hand tools


• This position spends about 80% of time outside in all weather conditions


• Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
