Position Title: Groundskeeper/Maintenance

Reports To: CMLS Maintenance Supervisor
Employment Status: Full time Hourly
Location: City Mission–Living Stones Properties

Position Summary:

The Groundskeeper is responsible for the regular upkeep of all City Mission–Living Stones properties. This includes seasonal tasks such as mowing, trimming, weeding, snow removal, trash collection, power washing, and other outdoor maintenance work. The role requires the ability to work independently in a variety of weather conditions while ensuring all outdoor spaces remain clean, safe, and well-maintained. Additionally, this position assists with the general maintenance of City Mission properties to include shelters and apartments. Experience with painting, plumbing and electrical with ability to turn an apartment for occupancy. 

Essential Job Functions:

Grounds Maintenance:

• Perform routine maintenance tasks across all City Mission properties, including:
  
  
  
  • Mowing and trimming lawns
  
  
  • Snow removal
  
  
  • Weeding, mulching, and seasonal care
  
  
  • Power washing and debris removal 
  
  
  • Assist with preparing units for move-in
  
  
  
  

Scheduling & Coordination:

• Collaborate with the Maintenance Supervisor to plan and carry out tasks.


• Coordinate scheduling to ensure all properties are maintained consistently and on time.


• Monitor equipment and report any maintenance or supply needs.

Safety & Compliance:

• Follow all organizational and OSHA safety protocols while performing duties.


• Ensure all tools, vehicles, and materials are used and stored safely.


• Maintain a clean and hazard-free work environment.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED preferred


• Prior experience in groundskeeping, landscaping, or related maintenance work preferred


• Valid driver’s license. Candidate must meet—and maintain—insurance carrier guidelines for driving eligibility throughout employment.


• Ability to lift and carry 50+ lbs. on a regular basis


• Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather


• Ability to work independently and follow schedules with minimal supervision


• Must pass all required background checks and clearances as mandated by the organization
