Groundsman

Diamond D Industries, is the nation's leading women-owned heavy construction specialist.  Based in South Louisiana, DDI offers clearing, access, site preparation, logistics and storm response services throughout North America.

Key Responsibilities: 

     *   Perform a variety of tasks related to maintaining and improving the aesthetics and safety of defined outdoor spaces.

     *  Perform regular task such as cutting and removing tree limbs and shrubs.

     *  Inspect the grounds regularly for potential safety hazards and if possible, perform necessary repairs or improvements.

     *  May operate and maintain groundskeeping equipment.

     *  May carry out minor repairs and maintenance procedures on equipment utilized.

     *  Work closely with other employees to ensure the overall cleanliness and aesthetic appeal of the outdoors.

     *  Dispose offsite waste and debris properly and according to site requirements.

     *  Assist on-site equipment operators when and where needed.

     *  Demonstrate good work practices through compliance support of all site safety, health and environmental guidelines.

     *  Proven experience as a Groundman or similar role.

     *  Knowlege of horticulture.

     *  Practical skills for carrying out manual work.

     *  Ability to work in varying weather conditions and physical stamina to carry out strenuous tasks.

     *  Basic problem-solving skills to identify and resolve issues related to ground aesthetics.

     *  Teamwork skills to work collaboratively with other site employees to coordinate task safely and efficiently.

     *  Effective communication skills.

     *  Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

     *  Candidate must possess OSHA 10 certification or be willing to obtain it.

     *  Successful candidate must complete a drug and alcohol screening and background check prior to employment.
