Job Description - Groundsman for Tree Service Crew

Are you someone who enjoys working outdoors, being part of a close-knit crew, and taking pride in a hard day’s work? We're hiring a Groundsman to join our experienced team at C. S. Flournoy, a trusted and growing tree service business with over 35 years in the industry.

What You’ll Do:

Support climbers and crew by managing ropes and lowering limbs safely

Drag brush and feed limbs into the chipper

Cut logs and brush with a chainsaw

Maintain a clean, safe job site (cleaning up wood, tools, and debris)

Assist in loading tools, setting up traffic cones, and preparing the work zone

Help maintain and inspect equipment as needed

What We’re Looking For:

Must be dependable and show up on time consistently

Must consistently wear personal protective equipment and follow strict safety protocols

Able to lift heavy materials and work outdoors in all weather

Comfortable working around chainsaws, woodchippers, and heavy machinery

Ability to follow directions and work well as part of a team

Good communication and a safety-first mindset

Preferred Qualifications (but not required):

Driver’s license (CDL is a plus)

Experience driving trucks and trailers

Previous experience in tree work, landscaping, or construction

Familiarity with chainsaws, ropes, or chipper equipment

CDL, pesticide license, or line clearance experience are bonuses

Compensation: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour

Since that time our Richmond Tree Removal Company has grown exponentially and offer a variety of services; in fact we even offer professional snow plowing and snow removal for the Richmond area.

Our team is made up of fully trained, skilled and experienced members, including a Certified Aborist on call.

We take great pride in our ability to also offer the best in a rapid response time and safe quality work, all at beyond reasonable rates.

EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES

We are looking for the best professionals in the business and are willing to pay top pay. Must have a CDL or be able to obtain one. Year round work with good benefits. Will help to become certified as an ISA Registered Arborist.
