The Guest Services team at Arapahoe Basin is committed to providing excellent customer service, ensuring every guest we interact with has a day worth repeating. As a Guest Services Sales Agent at Arapahoe Basin, you will participate in all point of sale and guest related operations within the Guest Services Building, Ticket and Season Pass Offices, and the Activity Check-in area. 

As a Guest Services Gate Monitor at Arapahoe Basin, you will check lift tickets and passes for valid access at the Black Mountain Express. This role is the “face” of Arapahoe Basin and will handle all types of guest concerns in a friendly and efficient manner. Essential Responsibilities:

• Provides excellent customer service to all A-Basin guests to provide a day worth repeating
• Promote the Arapahoe Basin Vibe
• Maintain knowledge of A-Basin facts, summer terrain status, events, and all products available for sale to effectively answer guest questions 
• Answer phones, emails and information requests
• Uses the point of sale (POS) system to sell various A-Basin products such as lift tickets, season passes, Aerial Adventure Park, Via Ferrata, events, and more
• Helps manage storage, tracking, and distribution of lost & found items.
• Handle cash, credit card, and check transactions accurately and securely 
• Perform end-of-day closing procedures, including balancing the point-of-sale system and reconciling the cash drawer 
• Maintain a clean, organized, and professional workstation 
• Stock and replenish office supplies as needed 
• Help maintain all office equipment
• Staff and facilities activity check in at Arapahoe Sports West
• Sell retail merchandise to guests 
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the areas surrounding entry gates 
• Communicate information with guests, co-workers, ski patrol and other ski area personnel throughout the day
• Assist Lift Operations by updating and maintaining the message board with current information 
• Maintain a safe and orderly work area, including proper storage of tools 
• Keep locker room areas clean and organized 
• Support emergency evacuation of chairlift if necessary
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Education Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent

Experience Required:

• Exceptional organization skills

• Attention to detail

• Ability to multi-task

• Excellent communications skills

• Previous guest service and cash handling experience – preferred.

• Basic Computer skills with experience using Windows, Microsoft Office, etc.

• Ski or Snowboard at an intermediate level or higher – negotiable.

• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time

• Must have the dexterity and the ability to use both hands.

• Ability to withstand high-altitude conditions at all times.

• Can work outside while standing in a high alpine, wintery environment for up to 8 hours

• Bend, twist, kneel, pull, push and lift approximately 25lbs

Other Requirements:

• Must be available on weekends and holidays.

Work Environment:

• You will work approximately 50% of the time indoors and 50% outdoors in a cold, snowy/rainy/sunny, high alpine, environment. You will work with guests frequently on a daily basis.
