Under the direction of the Program Director, the Program Coach plans and teaches competitive gymnastics to participants ages 5 through 12. The Program Coach is responsible for developing the fundamental competitive tracks for the compulsory team program. In addition, this individual will act as liaison between the director and the competitive team staff, dispersing group communications.
Essential Functions / Job Duties:
Develop and plan age-appropriate Gymnastics for YMCA participants
Development of the pre-team and Level 1 competitive team program to ensure strong fundamentals that will promote growth within the Junior Olympic Competitive Team.
Planning, supervising and implementing programs in accordance with policies, procedures, and philosophy and core values of the YMCA.
Demonstrate, model and gear program to the needs of individual children with concerns for their interests, disabilities, special talents, and developmentally appropriate activities.
Ensure that the arrangement, appearance, decor, and environment of the classroom are conducive to learning.
Maintain excellent communication with parents regarding youth sports, progress, achievements and /or concerns.
Attend functions such as staff meetings and program events.
Participate in ongoing professional developmental training and attend coaches meetings as required by the Program Director.
Work closely to train and help volunteers.
Creation and implementation of Junior Olympic Competitive Policies and Procedure (Gymnastics Agreement).
Coordinate payments of team program including but not limited to team gymnastics tuition, competitions, and other fees related to the Junior Olympic team program.
Assist with other recreational gymnastics duties as needed.
All other duties as assigned by Program Director

Qualifications, Skills and Abilities/ Position Requirements:
Must be at least 18 years of age
High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Minimum of 1 year experience teaching Youth Sports related to gymnastics to children.
Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to interact with individuals at all levels.
State approved CPR/ First Aid/ AED certification must be current, or obtained within 90 days of employment.
Bilingual, English and Spanish, a plus
Excellent communication skills.
As a condition of employment and a Drug-Free Workplace you will be required to submit to and satisfactorily clear a thorough Level II fingerprinting background screening and drug test.
