Job Description - Gyu-Kaku Cincinnati Hiring Line-cooks, Servers, Hosts and Dishwashers



 

FOH POSITIONS - Servers

We are looking for competent Restaurant Servers to take and deliver orders. You’ll be the face of our restaurant and responsible for our customers’ experiences.

Food server responsibilities include ensuring our tables are clean and tidy when guests arrive, presenting menus and serving food and beverages. You need to be quick on your feet (literally and metaphorically) and have a polite and friendly attitude. If you enjoy talking to people and thrive in a fast-paced workplace, we’d like to meet you.

Your ultimate goal will be to provide high-quality service that will help us maintain and attract customers.

FOH POSITIONS - Hostess

A Hostess presents a positive first impression of the establishment’s friendliness, excellent service and high standards. The Hostess also greet Guests upon arrival, inform Guests of their wait time, monitor a waiting list, enter Guest names into the computer system, show Guests to their table and bid Guests farewell as they leave.

A Host/Hostess must be able to carry natural conversation with Guests without sounding scripted or intrusive. Additionally, the Host cares for our Guests by refilling beverages and performs light housekeeping duties such as cleaning glasses and menus and ensures restrooms are clean, stocked and orderly. As a member of an energetic team, the Host/Hostess may also need to answer the phones and fill to-go orders when needed. Availability must include nights and weekends.

FOH – Bussers

The Busser helps provide exceptional dining service to customers in a timely, courteous, efficient, and accurate manner. He or she sets and resets dining room tables to maximize prompt table availability for our customers, removes plates, glassware, and silverware when customers are finished with them, and quickly and efficiently re-stocks dishes and glassware. In addition, the busser helps with other tasks including washing dishes, cleaning, and emptying trash, and maintaining restrooms. The Busser is polite and friendly to guests, wait staff, and management and must follow proper sanitation standards and keep his or her workstation clean and sanitary at all times.

BOH - Line cooks

The Cook is responsible for preparing all food orders within a timely manner and according to guest special request and Gyu Kaku recipes. Communicates with the service team and the expo to ensure the food orders meet the guests' expectations.

 

BOH – Dishwashers

The Dishwasher helps provide exceptional dining service to customers in a timely, courteous, efficient, and accurate manner. He or she assumes 100% responsibility for the cleanliness of dishware and grilling equipment. In addition, the dishwasher helps with other tasks as assigned by the Kitchen Manager or Manager on Duty. The Dishwasher is polite and friendly to guests, staff, and management and must follow proper sanitation standards and keep his or her workstation clean and sanitary at all times.

 

 

Essential duties and responsibilities as Line Cook


  • This position requires attendance as scheduled and policy and procedure compliance.

  • Maintain a gracious, pleasant and friendly attitude, while contributing to a teamwork-based work environment.

  • Take pride in his/her appearance while adhering to the Gyu Kaku Dress & Appearance Policy.

  • Follow all safety and sanitation guidelines at all times.

  • Ensure the highest quality preparation and presentation of food items.

  • Serve hot food hot and cold food cold every time.

  • Grill, deep fry, bake, broil, steam and microwave raw and prepared food.

  • Measure and assemble ingredients and cooked items according to Gyu Kaku recipes and menu specifications.

  • Portion food into individual and bulk packages.

  • Wash and clean fruit and vegetables for peeling, dicing, shredding, or slicing using kitchen hand- utensils and electric equipment.

  • Prepare any re-cooks or special order requests.

  • Complete specific cleaning responsibilities and station maintenance including, but not limited to, the walk-in refrigeration, prep, and dry storage areas.

  • Prepare food in a way to avoid waste and spoilage, ensure high quality, and to maintain food safety standards; daily/weekly food inventories correspond with food sales.

  • Set up, maintains, and breaks down the kitchen.

  • Stock/restock items on the line according to specifications.

  • Responsible for the set-up, cleanliness, and organization of the work area before, during, and after every shift.

  • Position requires slip-resistant shoes.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This position requires regular attendance; requires the ability to stand or walk for hours at a time; frequently required to hear, speak, walk, crawl, climb, stand, reach, bend, balance, kneel, stoop, lift and carry items up to 50 lbs; requires ability to tolerate significant changes in temperature, and frequent immersion of hands in water and cleaning or sanitizing solutions. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

For all positions must be able to work weekends and holiday season

(Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year)
