Description

The Half-Day Building Substitute Teacher at Heritage Christian Academy’s Upper Campus provides consistent classroom support during regular teacher absences. The substitute will deliver prepared lessons, manage classroom environments effectively, and ensure a seamless continuation of the educational experience. As a key member of our Christian educational community, the substitute teacher will also model and uphold the school's mission and values, fostering a spiritually enriching and academically productive environment.

Estimated Hours: 20 hours per week, Monday through Friday mornings from August through May

Responsibilities:

• Deliver lessons provided by regular classroom teachers clearly and effectively
• Manage classroom behavior and maintain a safe and positive learning environment
• Accurately record attendance and complete required daily documentation
• Communicate proactively and collaboratively with administrators, teachers, and staff as needed
• Assist with supervision or other duties as needed during half-day assignments
• Participate in required professional development or training sessions as provided
• Fulfill other duties as assigned by school administration

Reporting relationship:

The Half-Day Building Substitute Teacher reports directly to the Upper School Principal.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred
• Previous teaching or substitute experience preferred
• Commitment to Continuing Education and professional development
