Job Summary:
Baker Landscaping & Concrete, LLC is seeking a skilled and reliable Hardscape General Laborer to join our team. In this role, hardscape installation projects, including patios, walkways, retaining walls, and other outdoor structures. This entry-level position is responsible for assisting the team with basic tasks, ensuring worksite safety, and learning essential hardscaping techniques
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Duties/Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Assist in the installation of hardscape features, including pavers, concrete, stone, and retaining walls.
- Perform basic site preparation, such as digging, grading, and compacting soil.
- Load, unload, and transport materials, tools, and equipment to and from the worksite.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area by removing debris and ensuring tools are stored properly.
- Operate basic tools and equipment safely, including shovels, wheelbarrows, compactors, and saws.
- Follow directions from Crew Leaders and Technicians to complete assigned tasks efficiently.
- Support quality control by ensuring proper alignment, spacing, and installation of materials.
- Adhere to company safety policies, wearing proper PPE, and reporting hazards to supervisors.
- Learn and develop skills in hardscaping techniques and material handling to advance within the company.
- Provide general labor support for landscaping and hardscape-related tasks as needed.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to follow instructions from supervisors or senior maintenance workers.
- Previous experience in construction, hardscape, or landscaping is a plus but not required.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and a positive attitude.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods standing and walking.
- Physical stamina and the ability to perform manual labor, including lifting heavy materials and working in various weather conditions.
- Ability to lift 50-75 lbs. regularly and perform physically demanding tasks.
Work Environment and Conditions:
- Exposure to outdoor weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, and snow.
- Ability to work on uneven terrain, such as dirt, grass, or gravel surfaces.
- Exposure to loud noises from equipment and vehicles.
- May require wearing protective gear such as gloves, safety boots, or reflective vests.
