Texas Hardwood Flooring is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Hardwood Flooring Carpenter to join our professional flooring team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience installing, repairing, sanding, and finishing various types of hardwood floors. This role requires a strong understanding of carpentry, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship to residential and commercial clients across Texas.
Key Responsibilities:
Install hardwood flooring (solid, engineered, prefinished, and unfinished) according to project specifications.
Sand, stain, and finish floors using professional-grade equipment.
Remove and dispose of old flooring when necessary.
Inspect floors for damage and perform necessary repairs.
Measure, cut, and fit flooring materials with precision.
Ensure proper subfloor preparation prior to installation.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment on-site.
Communicate with clients and team members to ensure expectations are met.
Operate and maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
Follow safety protocols and OSHA standards at all times.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a flooring carpenter or hardwood flooring installer (minimum 2–3 years preferred).
Proficiency with flooring tools and machinery (e.g., nailers, sanders, saws).
Strong knowledge of wood types, stains, and finishes.
Ability to read blueprints and interpret technical drawings.
Physical stamina to stand, kneel, lift, and carry materials for extended periods.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Excellent attention to detail and craftsmanship.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certification from NWFA (National Wood Flooring Association) is a plus.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
Experience with custom inlays or borders is highly desirable.
