GENERAL SUMMARY

The Harvest Run Team Member is responsible for transporting, receiving, and sorting donations from our community partners, and ensuring their safe and complete return to the Food Assistance Program. This role oversees the proper handling of all donations, including sorting, weighing, labelling, storage, and accurately documenting each donation received. Additionally, team members assist with extra pickup runs and receiving donations as needed.

This position works in close collaboration with various departments and programs across St. Matthew’s House to ensure the effective and timely flow of donated goods. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team are essential. The ideal candidate must be dependable, punctual, and committed to upholding the mission and values of St. Matthew’s House. This position requires individuals to bring integrity, compassion, and a donor-focused attitude to their interactions with community partners. St. Matthew’s House is faith based 501(c)(3) charitable organization that exists to transform lives in a spiritual environment that is both compassionate and disciplined.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Comply with all Collier County traffic laws and adhere to St. Matthew’s House (SMH) driver safety standards and vehicle operation guidelines.
• Assist with Food Pantry and Community Distributions by transporting and delivering additional supplies as needed.
• Safely deliver pre-organized food items to SMH shelters and internal programs in a timely and efficient manner.
• Ensure all assigned routes are completed according to schedule and submit all required documentation to the Program Supervisor by the end of each shift.
• Accurately account for all food products daily, ensuring that the correct poundage is recorded and delivered to each designated location.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of assigned vehicles, reporting any mechanical issues or maintenance needs promptly.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the delivery vehicle to ensure food safety and presentation standards are upheld.
• Communicate effectively with program staff, partner agencies, and site coordinators to confirm delivery details and resolve any discrepancies.
• Support warehouse staff with loading and unloading food items and assisting with inventory management when needed.
• Always represent St. Matthew’s House professionally and courteously, upholding the organization’s mission and values during all community interactions.

Requirements

Education: High school diploma or equivalent. 

Experience: Valid FL Driver’s License

Mental/Visual Demands: Flow of work requires normal mental and visual capabilities.

Working Conditions: This position entails regular physical activity, including the ability to stand for extended periods and perform tasks that involve lifting, bending, and stacking items weighing up to 50 pounds as part of daily operations.
