Hazardous Waste/Environmental Technician

We’re looking for a dedicated individual to join our team as a technician at our hazardous waste facility on Eielson AFB, AK.  Technicians are the heart of our operations, driving our mission to safeguard the environment and serve local communities. In this role, you’ll take on vital responsibilities such as environmental waste pickups, material handling, accumulation site inspections, and general warehouse operations—making a tangible impact every day.

Requirements

 Key Responsibilities May Included:

• Pickup, handle, and containerize hazardous waste and materials (Typically used fuels, oils, cleaners, glycols, etc.)
• Inspect containers and collection areas for compliance with regulatory requirements 
• Drive and operate light and heavy commercial vehicles and equipment; trucks, forklifts, plows, pumps, etc. to perform environmental and industrial services
• Assist in the operation of a water treatment system for contaminated snow and wastewater
• Spill response and clean-up activities
• Perform routine daily vehicle and equipment inspections
• General warehouse operations, labor, and housekeeping
• Data entry and record keeping
• Follow safety program requirements as priority one; always acting in a safe manner
• Provide excellent customer service and client relations
• Be a kind and respectful teammate
• Abide by company drug-free policy including recreational and medicinal marijuana
• Accomplish assigned tasks with minimal supervision and adapt to changing priorities

Qualifications:

• Non-CDL applicants encouraged to apply; CDL with hazmat endorsement and a clean driving record preferred.
• High school graduate or equivalent
• Experience working with hazardous waste is a plus
• Possess or obtain a 40-Hour HAZWOPER certification prior to 1st day as a condition of employment (we can assist)
• Pass pre-employment drug screening including marijuana
• Ability to pass a government background check for military installation access
• Ability to pass occupational and DOT physicals
• Ability to wear a respirator
• Have a positive attitude, Integrity, and strong work ethic
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the job
• General computer skills
