Job Description - HDFS - Behavioral Health Interventionist - Open Pool

Job Description

The Department of Human Development and Family Studies seeks applications for doctoral-level behavioral health interventionists that will deliver manualized, evidence-based psychosocial interventions (e.g., cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness-based intervention, interpersonal psychotherapy) with groups of adolescents experiencing or at-risk for mental and/or cardiometabolic health issues in the context of clinical research trials. The behavioral health interventionist will additionally participate in regular didactic training and individual/group clinical supervision. This clinical position may also require assessment of mental health concerns (e.g., depression, self-harm, suicidality, disordered eating behaviors) via empirically supported semi-structured clinical interviews, risk assessment, and risk management intervention delivery

Hourly Rate Range:

$90.00 - $91.00 per hour

Essential Job Duties:

  • Deliver manualized, evidence-based psychosocial interventions (e.g., cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness-based intervention, interpersonal psychotherapy) with groups of adolescents experiencing or at-risk for mental and/or cardiometabolic health issues in the context of clinical research trials. 

  • Assess mental health concerns (e.g., depression, self-harm, suicidality, disordered eating) via empirically supported semi-structured clinical interviews.

  • Provide risk management interventions to adolescents reporting suicidal ideation and/or self-injurious behaviors.

  • Supervise study team members (undergraduate and graduate students, postbaccalaureate research staff, postdoctoral fellows) in conducting mental health assessments, risk management, and intervention delivery.

  • Contribute to regular didactic training opportunities, such as team research meetings and didactics offered through the Children’s Hospital Colorado Lifestyle Medicine program.

  • Weekly individual/group clinical supervision.

Conditions of Employment:

Pre-employment Criminal Background Check (required for new hires)

Supervision:

Supervise and provide clinical guidance to research associates and assistants who complete risk assessments with research study participants, including guiding risk management strategies to mitigate suicidality and risk for self-injurious behaviors.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Doctoral degree (PhD, PsyD, or comparable credential)

  • 2 years of experience

  • Must be available for clinical supervision intervention groups on weekdays during after-school/evening hours (4pm - 8pm)
