Head Basketball Coach

About Us:

Soccer Stars is the leading youth soccer programs for children ages 12 months to 13 years in Long Island and Eastern Queens. Our acclaimed program provides an energetic, enjoyable, and age-suitable introduction to the fantastic game of soccer by providing classes, camps, and clinics held in schools, community centers, and local parks. We take pride in our creative curriculum, which focuses not only on soccer skills but also on fostering social skills and character development, creating a positive and lasting impact on every child we coach.

Who We Are Looking For:

We are seeking enthusiastic, reliable, and passionate part-time coaches to join our team! If you love working with children, enjoy teaching through play, and have a flexible schedule, we’d love to hear from you.

Requirements and Camp Details:

• Experience: At least 2 years of coaching Basketball, teaching, or working with children. Experience with early childhood (ages 1-5) and children with learning or developmental disabilities is a plus.
• Traits We Value: We’re looking for a dependable and adaptable individual with a genuine passion for helping children grow and thrive. You should be skilled at creating positive connections — both on the field with children and parents, and off the field with our team.
• Availability:
• Monday- Friday
• Hours of Operation: 8:15am - 4:30pm
• Housing: Provided nearby at Stony Brook Southampton
• Important: No smoking, drinking, drugs, or parties permitted; curfew at 12:00 AM on work nights
• Move-In: As early as June 17, or during orientation
• Camp Dates: June 30 – August 22
• Mandatory Orientation Dates (meals included):
• June 21 & 22, 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM
• June 28 & 29, 9:00 AM – 3:30 PM
• July 4th: Camp closed
• Weekends: Free — you’re welcome to stay or leave; additional pay for Soccer Stars evening and weekend classes if you’d like to make additional money, there will be Soccer Classes available and there might be Basketball and/or Multisport classes as well
• Expectations: Be a vibrant, positive presence in camp life. There will be downtime, but you’ll be expected to support with camp operations, supervision, and engaging with kids and fellow counselors.
• Meals: 3 meals provided on camp days; access to their kitchen on weekends
• Transportation: Coaches typically carpool to camp — easy to coordinate with fellow staff
• If you are working on weekends or evenings you'll need your own vehicle to travel to those classes.
• Compensation: You will receive a stipend of $450/week
• Tech-Friendly: Comfortable using a mobile device for scheduling and communication.
