Head Chef - Leading Industry Pay

A renowned family-owned restaurant located in Wilkes-Barre, PA is seeking a talented and experienced Head Chef to lead the kitchen team and uphold the exceptional culinary standards that have made this establishment a beloved dining destination.  With a diverse menu featuring authentic Italian dishes and their own in-house winery crafting handcrafted wines, they strive to create memorable culinary experiences for guests.  The Head Chef will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of kitchen operations, including menu planning, food preparation, quality control, and staff management.

Head Chef Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the kitchen team, including hiring, training, and scheduling staff
• Develop creative and innovative menu offerings that showcase our commitment to authentic Italian cuisine
• Ensure high standards of food quality, presentation, and taste are consistently maintained
• Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed to minimize waste and maximize efficiency
• Enforce strict adherence to food safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure a clean and hygienic kitchen environment
• Collaborate with management to develop and implement cost-effective strategies to optimize kitchen operations
• Stay updated on industry trends and culinary techniques to continually improve and enhance our menu offerings
• Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that encourages creativity, teamwork, and professional growth among kitchen staff

Head Chef Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Head Chef or Executive Chef in a restaurant setting, preferably with experience in Italian cuisine
• Extensive knowledge of culinary techniques, ingredients, and flavors
• Strong leadership and managerial skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire kitchen staff
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with other members of the management team
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
• Solid understanding of food safety and sanitation regulations
• Culinary degree or certification from a recognized culinary institution preferred
