Head End Cable Technician

Shift: Monday-Friday, 8AM-5PM (plus on-call rotation)

Seeking an experienced Head-End Technician to perform the following duties:

• Install, wire and set-up various head end equipment


• Maintenance of satellite dishes


• Work on projects with other head end techs as well as other departments within the company such as Field Techs, BRC NOC and BRC Engineering


• Work with outside vendors and maintenance companies


• Keep head end areas clean and organized


• Assist with area snow removal


• Keep generators , DC plants and environmental equipment operational and maintained


• Splicing of fiber optic panels and cables


• Running fiber optic jumper cables and terminating into various types of equipment


• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• H.S. Diploma or G.E.D.


• 3-5 years’ experience in RF cable and Fiber optics


• Established residency in Pennsylvania


• Valid PA driver’s license and good driving record


• Knowledge of MS Office, Excel, Word and Power Point


• Working knowledge of RF, Optical, Power meters ,OTDR and other fiber and RF related tools


• Basic knowledge of AC and DC power


• Basic knowledge of IP networking


• Basic fiber optic cleaning skills


• Good Communications Skills- Oral and written


• Ability to work off diagrams and prints to build and maintain head end circuits


• Ability to learn new equipment and technologies as the Head End changes frequently


• Ability to work unassisted at times


• Ability to participate in On-Call rotation schedule with other head end technicians


• Ability to travel to other head ends occasionally to assist with projects


• Ability to use power and clamp on amp meters
